looking for a possibly non-conformist marriage in Essex



John Cooper born about 1790 +- 6 years

m. abt 1813 of Colchester

Elizabeth

b. in Colchester

had their first child, Emma Elizabeth was baptised 17 Oct 1814 in St. Martins, Colchester.



the children are baptised in the Anglican church, but Elizabeth's parents had a Quaker birthright. however, I don't know which of 7 children are her parents. I do know one of them is hers from a family will, but I need the marriage record to find out which one it is...

At http://www.familysearch.org/ I've found a reference to a JOHN COOPER marrying an ELIZABETH FLOWERS on 15 FEB 1813 at SOUTH WEALD, ESSEX.

yes, thank you. I've seen that one in the IGI before, if it is hers then we have an unknown marriage in the family. since it's a batch file one cannot tell if it's Anglican or Non-Conformist. I haven't been able to find a likely match in the IGI, and FreeReg isn't comprehensive enough yet to help. I have access to Ancestry but haven't found them there in Pallot's marriages. if I could go to England I'd dig deep in the RO, but that's not an option for me.

The marriage of John Cooper & Elizabeth Flowers in South Weald is Anglican. I can send you copy if you want one(email address by PM). The witnesses are James Cooper & John Strutt. The first child born is Mary Anne bapt. 12th March 1815.
