    Default going nowhere !!!!!

    Hi all

I have hit the brick wall again this time with my mums side of the family. I will do my best to explain it to you ,I do hope someone can help.

My grandfather frederick hammond had ten siblings all born in bermondsey london. the first born was called james b 1884.

Their parents were James b 1861 and Sarah b 1859 hammond james had 4 siblings their parents were, James b 1836 and Jane b 1835, james had 2 siblings.

Their mum was Abigail hammond (nee kendall) b 1805

I am assuming from the pattern that their father was called james i cannot find any info about him at all.

In the 1851 census abigail was a widow living with her children at 5 wades place poplar .

Can anyone help me find out who her husband was and his occupation and when he died their last born child was born in 1839 called edward. and if possible the names of her husbands parents.

the family come from the bermondsey area with the odd few from poplar east london.

    thank you

    angiee

    Hi Angiee.

Found Abigail & 3 Children in 1841 in Wades Place in Poplar.

    Abigail 30

    James 7

    Mary ----- 4

    Edward 2

    All born in county HO 107 / 702 / 9 Pce49 page 23

Looking at the occupations of others on the page it would be a good assumption he had something to do with tha sea or shipyard. Where are the other 2 children?

    hi malcolm

There were only 3 children james, mary and edward sorry if i confused you aswell as myself. So he could have been at sea for the 1841 census abigail was definatly a widow by the 1851 census . This is a twist for the hammond family they have been in the leather trade for generations,

    thank you angiee
