Thread: 1871 look up

There seems to be quite a few Goodridges in Tenby. I'm interested in the family of George Goodridge,( married to Elizabeth Jenkins), who was born in 1857. They were my great grandparents but I'd like to go further back if possible.

Please, can anybody help me with a look up on the 1871 census for George Goodridge, Tenby Pembrokeshire. He would have been 14 (born 1857 - Tenby) and I'm hoping I can find out the names of his parents. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Wow! That was quick. Thank you so much Slizzy I think you may be right because George went on to become a fisherman. I can't believe I might now have roots in Devon Now that is surprise.

You're welcome Misty...............and isn't family history interesting? it throws up many surprises! I've found George and family on the 1861 with a few more siblings, if you'd like details you've only to shout. It's possible George and Susan were twins as they are both recorded as being 4yrs on the 1861.

Thanks Slizzy, I would love more details. I have the entries for the 1881 and 1901 census. At the moment my email account is acting up, I can send but I can't receive for some unknown reason.



And yes, family history is fascinating. I just did a google search yesterday for my grandmother and I found a posting on another forum that contained their names in a read out from 1901 and I've not stopped since! I'm going cross-eyed with all the web sites I'm searching! So I was so happy to find this forum and all you lovely friendly people. Serendipity indeed
