Thread: searching for italian family in liverpool

Hi

I am searching for my husbands Gt Grand father Antonio Miller who was born in italy in 1834, we know he came to this country before 1855 but we cannot find any shipping/immigration records. We know that the name was changed to Miller but do not know when and why. The family ended up in Liverpool and Warrington.

He married Mary O riely in 1855 in the St joseph church in the parish of St Annes in Liverpool

before this we have no trace of him at all. If any body can help find his entry into the country and where he went before he got to liverpool we would be extremely grateful.

We are also related to the Granellis.

Jane O reily who was married to John Grannelli in 1857, was Mary O riely's sister.

Anthony and Bunard? - looking at the original I'd say it should read Bernardo- they were both born in Lombardy, Mary Ann in St.Alban's and Jane in Harpenden, Jane is listed as niece.

Was your guy naturalised? if so the National Archives may have his record.
