    Default Matilda Plant- Still searching

I am still needing some help with this one for a marriage lookup please.

Matilda Plant born about 1833 Deptford Parish of St Paul married a William Whitehead. Matilda died in 1866. I would think the marriage would have been in the 1850,s? In 1851 William Whitehead was in Liverpool un married. He was born Falkirk Stirlingshire about 1819/22. Their first three children were born in Ireland County Cork County Kerry but the other children right up to 1874 were all born in Woolwich Kent. William Whitehead remarried an Amelia ? sometime after 1866 as she can be found on the 1871 Census for Mulgrove Place Woolwich with him. I have sent away for the youngest childs Birth Cert to find out what Amelia,s maiden name was.

I really need some help with the marriage for Matilda to William. These two old folks were my GGGrandparents.

I do have the Census for Matilda in 1841 and her family but cannot find Matilda after that. Her family however I have traced through no problems there.

Thankyou and have a nice day.

    Regards Marion

    Hi Gillian,

    Their eldest three children were...

Maria Whitehead born about 1858 County Kerry.

    Agnes 1860 County Kerry,

William my Great Grandfather born 1861 County Cork.

The other six children were all born in woolwich kent.

Soon after thier son Joseph Alexander Whitehead was born in Woolwich in 1866 Matilda died. She was born in Deptford in 1833 as was all her family except Father William Plant born about 1796 Cape Of Good Hope and brother Joseph born 1817 Cape Of Good Hope.

The information I have is from the Census. On Joseph Alexander Whiteheads birth Cert for 1866 Woolwich it states his Mother was Matilda Plant. On freebmd a death can be found for Matilda in 1866. By that time William Whitehead Snr had retired from the Royal Artillery aged 43 years and between 1866 and 1868 William must have married his second wife Amelia ?. There children were...Robert 1868, David 1871,Louisa Gerorgina 1874 all born Woolwich. The three younger children of William and Matilda Plant were also born Woolwich.

Sophia born 1863,Sarah 1865, and Joseph above. In total William had nine children. Busy Boy. I have ordered the Birth Cert for Louisa Georgina Whitehead born 1874 Woolwich to confirm Mothers name. Gillian I have so much information on the Whiteheads I could wall paper my house. Royal Artillery records the lot but cant find anything on these two marriages for William Snr. By the way my two other family members do also agree on your findings for William born in Falkirk.
