    Hi Gillian
Thanks for looking for me. I will still keep on trying, and now try IGI as you suggest. I will let you know if I have any success. I am not ready to give up yet.
    Be in touch,
    Regards
    Jackie.

Hi Jackie - I've looked for a John Parker/Elizabeth marriage & it isn't in St Margarets - I checked both the marriage index and the parish registers. There aren't any other possibilities on the index either. I wonder as Diseworth is very near the county boundary whether you should look at Notts and Derbyshire - have a look at the IGI and see if you come up with any possibilities. I guess they would have married in Elizabeth's parish and then moved to central Leicester for work.
The same would apply to Thomas & Ann - I couldn't see a marriage for them either in Diseworth - but perhaps Jan could double check?

    Hi Jan
I wonder if you can help me. My G..g.grandfather was born in Diseworth. His name was John Parker b.1814. Gillian has already found his parents Thomas b1756 and Ann b1771 for me, and all of his siblings, two of whom I found still in Diseworth on the 1841 census (Benjamin and James)
Is it possible to find out Ann's maiden name, or anything more about the Parker family? I may be wishing for too much, but I thought you would'nt mind me trying.
    Yours hopefully
    Jackie.

When Ancestry Aid Vital Records gets going I shall probably try to transcribe some Leicestershire parish registers information and put it in the database. If anyone wants a particular name or parish added please post - I might as well start with something useful!

Thankyou Gillian, i had already come across Moore & Mary on the IGI but haven't as yet added them to my tree. I've been searching for any more info i could get on the family so that i could truly verify Moore as the father of Thomas. Names often repeat themselves in families as you know but unfortunately the name Moore doesn't appear anywhere else in this branch. Just when it would help to have a repeat given name you can't find one!!

I think Moore is quite likely the correct father and i shall probably end up including him and Mary in the tree.

and thanks ,yes i'll add the name Smart to the other lists as you suggest. Poli.

P.s i think i've duplicated this reply--i clicked onto the word 'report' at the end of your own message and posted it there--sorry if i've made an error!!
