    Hi Gillian
Thanks for looking for me. 1814 may be a little early for my John Parker. Is there anything I can do on line to find information. He was married to Elizabeth (parish of St Margarets) probably in Leicester where they lived, but I realize this is going to take some time to find, but I am grateful to you for your help.
    Jackie.

Hi Jackie - I'll see what I can find. The IGI gives a John Parker christening 25 May 1814 parents Thomas & Ann Parker but I'll need to look at the registers to see if there are any other possibilities (and for siblings)

I am looking for my gt gt grandfathers family. His name is John Parker b 1816 in Diseworth, Leicestershire. I have everything on the family from the 1841 census, and want to get back by Parish records etc to his parents and siblings. I have become really interested in the Parker family, moving from Leicester to Birmingham, having 10 children, working in the Jewellery Quarter, and I have high hopes now of finding out more.

I am interested in Warners (Burton Overy and Galby), Abel(l)s of Markfield, Arnsbys of Wistow.
I live in Leicester so may be able to help with your research.
Not just BMDs but sometimes wills, poor law records, trade directories, local newspapers & photos.
The Leics family history group site resources section gives an idea of the transcribed records available and members surname interests.
Leicestershire Records Office are in the process of putting their catalogue online.
There are marriage indexes for both Leicester & Leicestershire 1801-1837 which can be useful.
Have a look at leicestershirevillages.com - villages history section is sometimes very useful.
Have a look at leicestershireroots.co.uk - really useful, lots of info, links & photos.
