    HI,
    I am new to this!
My Essex connection is through my GGgrandfather GEORGECLARKE b. 1817 in Stowe Maries. He was a twin & his sister was SARAH ANN CLARKE who married JOHN STEVENS & lived in Woodham Ferrers & then Chelmsford.
I believe their parents were GEORGE CLARKE & MARY WRIGHT (a widow when she married George.)

    Hi
My ancestors lived in Elsenham. They were the Ball family: William, Maria (nee Hunfield) and their children George, Sarah Louisa, Mary, Maria and Henry.

Thanks PamelaP, i believe it may have been a home for unmarried mothers as Carol alison Green was working at the Colchester Co-op in Barrack Street, before having a baby. in 1965. i am unable to find any info on her other than she was about 16 or 17 at the time
