Default Zalig Hart

Dear Ancestry Aid Listers,
If you were a Jew in the 17/1800s and attended the Great Synagogue of London where might you be buried?

I'm looking for Zalig Hart, it would appear in my tree there are four of them. The dates I have are 1818-50-65-76 as their year of birth.

As usual I am indebted to this great website and it's members.
Best wishes to all, Ray

Hi Ray,

There is this website that lists the Jewish Cemeteries in London. I noticed that the top two are linked with the Great Synagogue of London.

International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies - Cemetery Project - London

Raven,
Interesting a Raven attempting to help a Hawk with a request.
I went to those web sites you mentioned I think I had come across the site before. It's a difficult site to understand bless their hearts if it is a choice between making something simple or hard they will choose hard.
I'll keep trying.
Thank you for your hard work, Ray

Hallo Hawks

I can't help with burials, but I can tell you that Zalig Hart born 1818 was also known as Solomon, and his death registered as Solomon Zalig Hart.
One of his sons, Zuzman (or Zusman and other spellings) Hart married in the Great Synagogue and was my husband's great-great grandfather.

Zusman and his wife Julia are buried at Edmonton Federation Cemetery in north London.
