Nothing funny about it. Everything's screwy when it comes to that marriage and the first born. My cousin and I are debating sending for a birth cert for the first born (George also). He's listed as 11 months on one census and then on the next he's 19. There's also a large age difference between George (senior) and Jane Ann. Which records do you speak of that say "54"? I have her as being born in 1840 in St. Luke's Middlesex (from freebmd and census), which would also be 54.

I have their marriage cert from 1869 and that says she is 20 and he is 21. Seems like there's something fishy going on for so many discrepancies.

Thanks,
Daryl

I believe Charles (1944) died in April, possible on the 23rd. I'm afraid that's the only one I have a 1/4 for.

In the past I have found the office at Southern Cemetary burials section
very helpful at giving exact locations / memorials there. I go there twice
each year if anyone interested.
regards
Mariam

Hi

Am looking for a John McIntrye who was born in Manchester and am hoping he didn't move out of the area

Any advice greatfully received - even if you need to point me to another thread. Am extremely new to this site so not sure if doing the correct thing yet.

Kind Regards

AstraOz

Ssssh don't say that otherwise all cemetries will be charging for this service.

I myself emailed the Cheshire Cemeteries the other week and the person who replied to my email gave me the grave and plot number and as an added bonus they sent me a map with the plot highlighted.

The best place i have found for free burial records and with the most information on is Tameside. If you don't have any family there , just try there web site and see what i mean. Try putting in a common surname and watch what comes up and all for nothing. I hold my hands up to the council there and wish more would do the same, but in these days ogf money-grabbing i can see that happening
