Hi Guys,

Dear Kelly

Thank you for your email.

Brookwood Cemetery is private property and although we welcome visitors, all
visitors have to abide by our rules and regulations
http://www.brookwoodcemetery.com/rul...egulations.htm

Photography is not permitted in the cemetery (rule 35) except with a
photographic permit, and photographs of memorials can only be taken with the
permission of the grave owner countersigned by the company (rule 7).

We do offer a grave search service for friends and relatives with a varying
scale of charges depending on the depth of information required.

Yours sincerely

*Hi There,

I am researching my family tree and a friend of mine has kindly asked if
i could
lookup a grave for her, i said i would, and just assumed i could walk
right on in.
It seems i have to get your permission first, is this right? I would
also like to take
some pictures, is this possible?.
Could you please tell me how to go about this in the right way.

Thankyou

Kelly*

Well I never!!

This is the first time I have heard of charges for photos!!

Maybe....just a little maybe....if they are using the fees they charge to preserve and protect the cemetry then all well an good.

Still a shock though!

I've been over to Staffordshire Moorlands a few times and the little country Chapels are open for you to go in
( churches wouldnt dare leave their doors unlocked in a city!) In some of them they have also transcribed all the remaining gravestones...with plot number etc...

I always take a photo of the page transcription and then go out into the graveyard and take photos of the stones themselves.

They also have a collection box inside the Chapel....I always leave a coupla quid to aid them as they are providing a wonderful service to genos!

Oops soz for ramblling

Hope it works out for you Mazz
