Hi Migky

Pat from this board very kindly went to Southern cemetery for me and took some photographs of the grave of my GGgrandfather, his wife and one daughter, that helped my research no end.

There were 5 other daughters 3 unmarrried so still had the name Daniel. I looked on the Manchester buriels website to see if I could find where they were buried, but the site is down at the moment. When it is up and running I will see if they are listed in any of the Manchester cemeteries and I will let you know, it would be great if they were buried in any of the cemeteries near you.

I will be away all next week so maybe the site will be accessible by then.

Thank you again for your offer of help.

Hi Migky

Sorry to take so long to reply, but I have been on holiday.I have just checked and the Manchester burial site is up and running again.

The thing is I know the year my Daniels died, but not the quarter. What I was hoping for was to find out what the inscriptions were on the gravestones. The 6 sisters were illigitimate, but their mother married my GGGrandfather after all the children were born and he was 64 at the time. I am trying to find out if he was the father of the girls and hoped there would be some clue on the headstones. Two of the sisters married and moved away, so I am concentrating on the 4 spinsters who all lived in the Manchester area.Pat from this site very kindly went to Southern on my behalf and photographed the headstone of my GGGrandfather and his wife plus one daughter Lily.

The other daughters were

Mary Louisa Ada Daniel (known as Ada) died 1955 Southern
Florence Daniel (cannot find death) born 1873
Roberta Rebecca Daniel known as Bertha born1874. There is burial listed for a Bertha Daniel in Southern cemetery who died in 1972 which would have made her 96 years old, could be possible as the mother of the girls lived to be 90!!

I suppose I could send for death certificates but it will not give parents. I did send for Lilys death certificate and no parents named just sister Ada as present at death.

So not too sure if I can go any further with this. I live in Spain otherwise I would visit the cemetery and look for the headstones, assuming that there are any!!!

Many Thanks for your interest

Hi Migky

Thanks you for that. I know that it is a mystery, a dead end I think!

Thanks for trying, I cannot think what else to try.
