Sorry got reaaly excited when I saw 19 threads thought I had had a reply. However, just wanted to make a point, my husbands father was killed in the war, he was a fireman putting out a fire on the hospital roof in Liverpool may 1941 when after the all clear the German planes returned and shot him down Alan was 7 years old. On the anniversary each year his mother took him to the cemetary to put flowers on his grave. Alan swears he remembers in great detail going to Anfield. Found out Yesterday his father is in West Derby cemetary. Just proves our memories can not be relied on. You should have seen his face he was 100% sure he was right.

Glad you located the grave! Lol and yes it just goes to show that not all things you are told are true!

My Dad told me lots of things a few years ago....majority was ok...and his dates were sometimes a coupla years out......but I got there in the end!

One story was that my Gt Grandad died on the morning of his eldest sons' wedding...but the wedding still went ahead as planned....

However.......on finding the aforesaid Marriage in Sep Qtr 1904..... Gt Grandad didn't die until Dec 1905!

Ahh well
