Search as I may I cannot find the registration of the death of my great grandfather George Green who was born in May 1823 at Necton, Norfolk.
On the night of the 1881 Census George, who was coachman in the employ of Lady Fountaine at Narford Hall, Norfolk, was visiting the blacksmith shop at Narborough, I guess it took several hours to reshoe 6 horses? In 1891, my great grandmother, Jane, formerly employed as a laundress at Narford Hall, is a widow residing with her son at Badby, Northamptonshire. George may have died at Narford, or he may have gone to Northants with Jane and died there? Does anyone have burial records for Narford, Norfolk from 1881 to 1891, or same for Badby, Northants? |

Hi Gillian
I think I checked that one out but can't be certain? It may have been the wood hiding behind the proverbial tree! I'd better send to ONS for a copy. Many thanks, appreciated. Ian ps Just as I thought. I had checked that George and he is not my great grandfather so I am still looking. Last edited by atji80; 01-05-2007 at 12:32 PM. |

Hello BrummieBoy
No I did not send for that certificate because that George was born at St. Faith's. My great grandfather was born at Necton. The informant of his death was great grandmother Jane, and his son was living in West Ham at the time, so I am certain I have the right George now. Thanks anyway. |
