I am looking for SIMPSON family in STAITHES NORTH YORKSHIRE. I have been trying to trace my SIMPSON family for years and have been to the village and looked in the museum to try to piece things together. Please can someone find me any SIMPSONS in 1841-1901 census so that l can really start fitting them all together. l am also interested in any occupation listed (mainly fishermen l think) and where they were from.

Hi Don,
Thanx for helping me with my Simpsons from Staithes. I am also related to the CUMMINGS and thought that I would be able to ask for info about them separetly; but as you have discovered it is a small village and they are all tangled up! My 2xG Grandmother ELIZABETH SIMPSON married ROBERT CUMMINGS in c 1850. All of the names that you have found tie in with what l know of my family, are all the names you have found for each year living in one household? l do know that a Hannah Simpson may tie in with them but l am not sure how as l was told that she was originally from Marton and was born c1779.
