hi need help i am trying to trace my great grandfather who i believe had a bootmakers shop on peel road in bootle liverpool in 1901. if anyone has any information about him or the shop i would be grateful

Hi David

I have found your William on all census from 1861 to 1901, It would appear that he was the son of Benjamin Hutchings and Mary Anne?
he married Alice Edwards 1883 Oct-Nov-Dec Toxteth Park Lancashire

I dont think he owned the shop,
In 1881 he was a boot salesman
In 1891 he was a Boot shop manager
In 1901 he was a boot shop keeper
