Hi, I am trying to find out some more information re Mary Cocker who married John Whitehead 31/05/1837 at Manchester Cathedral.I am trying to find out her fathers name. I am at a brick wall at the moment, it is not on bmd index, it only starts from july 1837. This is her second husband, she was born Mary Crowther 1804. They lived in Rochdale. Any help on this matter would be greatfully appreciated.

Hello Anne - there are 2 possible births on IGI

Mary Crowther born 25 Jul 1800 christened 1802 Rochdale

Parents Jonas and Mary

Mary Crowther born 8 Jun. 1803 Rochdale

Parents Jonathan and Mary.

Hi Slizzy, Thanks for looking up Mary Crowther, I don't know who her father is, I have sent for a wedding cert of her sister Ann and then it might lead me in the right direction, it was just a pity she didn't marry a couple of months later then i could have got hers, how inconsiderate !

Hi Annie, Thanks for the look up, I believe this could be the Mary Crowther I am looking for, and could be my GGGrandmother but I have very little to go on.
