Thread: Trenchard & Dally Families of Winsham

Hi guys, from the land of Hobbits, King Kong & Bungy Jumping.

I am trying to find the family (children, siblings & ancestors) of Samuel Dally & his wife Mary Trenchard who married in Winsham, Somerset on 10 May 1801. Samuel died on 24 March 1854 & Mary on 16 June 1829. I am connected to them via their daughter Mary Cordilla Dally (b 24 June 1801 at Winsham, d 13 December at Nelson, New Zealand) who married Bernard Gapper on 20 October 1827 at Winsham.

Mary Trenchard's parents were Isaac Trenchard & Elizabeth Paul who married at Winsham on 25 January 1779. I have not been able to find any siblings for Mary Cordilla Dally or any further details for her parents (or their siblings/parents etc). Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?

I think you probably need to look in Dorset as well as Somerset. Winsham is very close to the border. Also Isaac appears to be sometimes Isaac sometimes James (marriage record on Family History Online gives him as Isaac, I have a transcription which has him as James!)
