Thread: 1901 + 1881 Census - West Yorkshire

Could some kind person help me with the Wallis family. They came from the Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds region of West Yorkshire.
I think if it is possible to pin them down in 1901, then we should be able to move backwards, throught the census records.

Also looking for Percy Wallis and parents. Percy was born Huddersfield 1898.

Hi Lance... the only ones I can find are an Alfred and Dianna Wallis in Cambridgeshire... on both the 1901 and the 1881... the kids name tie in apart from an Ethel..

I have just checked my records and Percy's surname was Hanley. His mother was Edith Wallis born Kirtling 1877, his dad was called John.
Percy had 2 sisters, Elsie and Irene Hanley. Still think they were living in the Hudersfield area.

Raven, thank you for your quick response.

Would it be possible to look at the 1861 census and see if you can find Alfred Wallis (Wallace) and that should take us back one more generation and then the 1841 census at least one more generation. Then I can dig about in the local family history clubs and church records, to put meat on the bones.
