Default Can anyone find Martha?

This one is driving me crazy - I have been searching for my hubby's grt uncle and aunt. Finally had a breakthrough and found Joseph on board the Teutonic heading for Canada in 1911- also found the affidavit for his marriage in Toronto. Martha Young Riddell I can find in 1891 census and 1901 census but after that nothing no death, no marriage. By chance I found a Martha Young Riddell listed on the electrol rolls for California, but I can't find it again and searches have thrown up no more on a Martha Young Riddell - my instinct is she must have emigrated perhaps with Joseph. Any help will be much appreciated

Hi Chrissa,

I would personally wait a bit long until the next census comes out to see if she is still in England in 1911.
When you add the name Martha Young Riddell to the search engine for the electoral roll, you get many hits but unless all three names are highlighted they are not much use. You may get Martha Scott, Andrew Young and Joseph Riddell on the same page but the index will have what you first put in - Martha Young Riddell.

Yes I think you are right Starlight, I found her brother purely by chance, but luckily with his marriage affidavit online with both parent's names I knew I was right! The 1911 census will solve a few problems hopefully - but it's a long time coming....

Thank you

Chrissa
