Thread: Find my Past Look up please

Would someone please do a look up for me on Outgoing Passenger Lists on FMP ?

Annie Maunder (b. 17 May 1885,St. Cleer, Cornwall. parents John & Jemima) sailed from Southampton to New York in June 1906.

She returned to Southampton from NY in July 1936.

What I would like to know is did she return again to the USA.

I can then try to find if she came for a family event. I have no date or place of death as yet.

I checked find my past and according to them she left Southampton for New York on 1st July 1936 on the Queen Mary Official No 164282 Masters name Sir E.T Britten Cunard White Star Ltd. She was born 1885, a 51 married female a housewife, also travelling was John Maunder. But according to incoming records she arrived in Southampton 13th July 1936 again same ship with John 37 U.K address St Mary's Park Paignton Devon. But on this one I could see date e.t.c.
So I think FMP transcribed the date wrong but at least you know she left again.

Thanks a million Kim and Starlight that info is great, but as per normal every answer creates another question.
I was under the impression that she wasn't married, but it seem as though Annie must have married another Maunder. The only "John" I know of was her father, but he died in St.Cleer in 1908.

Hi Ken,

In 1906 on arrival in the USA she travelled with Bessie (29) & William Stone (5) to brother Alfred Maunder. She is stated as single


In 1936, John Henry Maunder (builder)/47/Married/Paignton travelled with
Annie Maunder (housewife)/41/Married/Paignton

Could these be two different people

Hi Starlight,
John Henry and this Annie are not my family. But Bessie would be my Annie's sister who married Arthur Stone a Cornish gold miner in 1900 at Liskeard, so that would explain William. The only possibility for Alfred would be her brother James Alfred Maunder born 1881.
The hours and hours I have spent looking my Maunder ancestors in Cornwall and it turns out that most of them have gone to America, where they seem to have gone to seek their fortunes during the second American gold rush, unsuccessfully I think. Annie's half brother Daniel Maunder died in his first year there, how or why I don't know.

Paignton in 1936 is the place of last residence not place of birth.
