I am trying to locate Charles William Young born about 1890 in bromley,possibly poplar, his parents names were john c young and susan young. They were living at abbotts road in poplar in 1891. Susan was born in limehouse in about 1865 and john in woolwich in 1869 approx. john was a lighterman. Would appreciate any help. I know william went on to be a lighterman too and died in about 1915 in an accident at the docks. Don't know if anyone knows how to find out more about this either. Thanks for the help.

That sounds about right, I got the names the wrong way round, he was charles william not william charles, although i am sure his father was john not joseph, guess it could be a transcription error. thanks

if you look at the image on Ancestry his father's name is clearly Joseph C.

Thats really strange, just looked up marriage index on freebmd and viewed original and he's listed as John Charles, How confusing, nothings ever easy is it!

do you think it's the right person as the rest of the family seems to be right even susan's father who appears to be living with them, i know he was called william and the age is about right?

I think it probably is... as you say everything else fits with what you know about the family...

Maybe he had to change his name and there is some dark secret in the family!!

I doubt it very much, he didn't do a very good job of disguising his identity!!!
