What is the Index to Griffiths Valuations , could anyone with full access to ancestry have a look and tell me .......

What is the Index to Griffiths Valuations, could anyone with full access to ancestry have a look and tell me what it says for Randal McAlister please, there is only two matches.

Hi Jennyc,

Griffith's Valuation, references approximately one million individuals who occupied property in Ireland between 1848 and 1864. This is only an index and very little information is shown.
When you find an ancestor in this data set, you can determine more information about that individual by referencing the microfiche or microfilm copies of Griffith's Valuations.
