Hi,

This is the marriage details from FreeBMD,,

Robert Mayall and on same page is Ann Crowther, June q 1838 Ashton&c vol 20 Page 70..
If you buy the marriage cert it will give you the grooms fathers and occupations, witnesses etc.

Thanks Light, Yes, I have purchased numerous certificates in the past to find out information. Also in the past I have found some detailed marriage records in the local library without having to buy a certificate, as this can be a costly exercise. I am not able to get to the Oldham libaray to check this out, I just thought I might try this avenue first. Thanks Anne

Ann Crowther, full, spinster, Isaac Crowther, Joiner
Both signed

Hi Colin,
Thank you so much for that info, was there any addresses for Robert Or Ann. Robert mayall was a witness at my GGGGrandfather's wedding, he too was a card maker, also I believe his wife Sarah was Ann Crowther's niece.
Are you on Genes reunited, because my tree is on there. I do have some Mayall info from censuses but I would appreciate having some more.
Thank you so much, looking forward to hearing from you

Hi Anne

The address given was "Oldham" not much info on these early records.

I am not on Genes reunited, but I do have a lot of Mayall info, so it may be best to contact me direct, as there is a lot to post. my email is colinmcinnes@btopenworld.com

Robert Mayall and I are 3rd cousins 4 times removed.

Robert and Anne had at least 9 children to my knowledge. Ribert was baptised at St Mary Oldham, 24-Jul 1814, son of Ann Mayall Hangingbank Spinster

some of his children I have found,
St Chads Rochdale Baptisams
26-May 1839 Robert Robert and Ann Mayall Mount Pleasent Card Maker
07-Dec 1845 Isaac Robert and Ann Mayall South Lane Card Maker
07-Dec 1845 Jane Robert and Ann Mayall South Lane Card Maker
16-Feb 1853 Ann Robert and Ann Mayall South Lane Card Maker
16-Feb 1853 Eliza Robert and Ann Mayall South Lane Card Maker
16-Feb 1853 Isaac Robert and Ann Mayall South Lane Card Maker
08-Aug 1855 Alfred Duckworth Robert and Ann Mayall South Lane Card Maker

I do know Robert was declared banctupt, and there is an interesting entry in the Lodon gazette

THE LONDON GAZETTE, JUNE 17, 1859. Page 2399
COURT FOR RELIEF OF INSOLVENT
DEBTORS.
The following PRISONERS, whose Estates and
Effects have been vested in the Provisional
Assignee by Order of the Court for Relief of
Insolvent Debtors, and whose Petitions and
Schedules, duly filed, have been severally referred
and transmitted to the County Courts
hereinafter mentioned, pursuant to the Statute
in that behalf, are ordered to be brought up
before the Judges of the said Courts respec
tively, as herein set forth, to be dealt with
according: to Law :
Before the Judge of the County Court of
Lancashire, holden at Lancaster, on Friday
the 1st day of July, 1859, at Eleven o'Clock
in the Forenoon precisely:
Robert Mayall, formerly of South-lane, Rochdale, Lancashire,
Card Maker and Wire Drawer, then of Regentstreet,
Rochdale aforesaid, Card Maker and Wire Drawer,
then of Melbourne, Australia, out of business, his Wife
residing in Milton-street, Rochdale aforesaid, and late of
River-street, his Wife lodging in Milton-street aforesaid,
out of business.

Hope this is of interest, and hope to here from you soon
