John Bernard Simmonds married either Cecelia E Geatsell or Fanny Louisa Wyatt (Record is Westhampnett 2b 875) but I do not know which one, Apart from obtaining a copy of the certificate I guess there's no easy way to resolve this?
They had a daughter Evelyn (maternal grandmother) who died when my mother was only about 5.
My mother is 70 in November and am trying to complete as best as able, her family tree about which she knows very little.
Help, as always, much appreciated.

Theres this birth..Simmonds Evelyn M... MMN Wyatt Steyning 2b462 Dec q 1911

And, Simmonds Rosemary E ....MMN Wyatt Steyning 2b369 Sept q 1917

I cant find any Simmonds births with MMN of Geatsell on FreeBMD..

Bare in mind theres no foolproof way of finding the partners of a marriage in 1909 and your always better off buying the cert..

That result is good enough Light. According to the indexes it could only have been Geatsell or Wyatt and apart from the MMN Wyatt quoted, what caps it for me is that my mother had been told once that her mother had a sister by the name of Rosie but she never knew anything about her or how true it was. Rosie is a hell of a candidate for Rosemary! (NB. I did not include the name in the query as one is always conscious of potential red herrings in research!)
