Default 1861 & 71 Staffordshire Census Request

Hello
I am trying to trace my ancestor, Elijah Cook. He was born in approximately 1854, give or take a couple of years, and appears to have spent his entire life in Staffordshire as a boiler maker. I have found him on the 1881 census, married to Ann. I have a suspicion that he married in 1870, in which case, he would appear on the 1871 census as married. If someone out there has access to the Staffordshire censuses and wouldn't mind having a look, I would be incredibly grateful.

Hi Froggy,

I have found a marriage for a Elijah Cook(e)

1871 4th Qtr W. Bromwich Vol 6b Pg 1107

there is an Ann Cartwright on the same page... If this is him then he wouldn't be with Ann on the 1871 Census

Hi Froggy,

I searched for a birth for Elijah and the only one that comes up for
births between 1850 -1855 in West Bromwich is this..

1852 1st Qtr West Bromwich Vol 6b Pg 583

Thanks very much, Pejay & Raven. I think I may have got the marriage date slightly wrong, in which case seeing him as unmarried in 1871 would be right. I think I'll go ahead and order that marriage cert. The fact that he appears listed as a nephew may indicate his parents weren't around, so a deceased father would be a good correlation. And the birth date looks quite promising too!
