Thread: 1891 lookup request Simmonds

You guys are a bit good at this so I'll push my luck and add another request, this time on my mothers side.
John Bernard Simmonds, lived in Sussex around the turn of the century, had a daughter born @ 1912 'Evelyn May' (my maternal grandmother).
I would like to know John's wife's name and if there are any details of his parents.

Theres a marriage for John Bernard Simmonds..

To either Cecilia E Geatsell or Fanny Louisa Wyatt Sept q 1909, vol 2b page 875 Westhampnett.

If you buy the marriage cert it will tell you the fathers names and occupations making it easier to pin them down on the censi..

But you may allready have it

In view of comments elsewhere regarding the accuracy of GRO records, I assume I could obtain this marriage cert. from the Local Registry Office (Chichester?) that now holds the files for Westhampnett?

Hi,

I would give the local reg office a ring and ask them to find the marriage for you. Local offices are usually very helpful..They usually ask for the year and one of the names so you should be ok..Good luck..
