Any help would be great all i know is
Esther Payne Harding married John Bulpit or Bulpitt 2.11.1829 in Basingstoke they had a daughter Mary Ann born 1830 who married Daniel Neal in March 1850,

hi dont think this is them as the dates dont add up she got married 1829 so in the 1841 she would have been older?

Hi Jean - I thought the 1841 showed two of her children with their grandparents? - Esther senior probably died?

Hi Jean,

I don't know if you have this :-

Mary Ann Bulpitt 06/08/1830 - John & Ester Bulpitt, Basingstoke.

If Esther Payne Harding was born in Basingstoke, she was probably born 1813 to Mary Harding. At the moment they are just ifs. I have one more record I can try. If I find anything positive I will get back to you but I think a full parish record lookup may be needed.

hi thanks for that info looks ok as i say i have nothing more to go on not sure where the payne comes into her name?

Hi Jean,

That is the bit that is stopping me giving you the exact Baptism date at the moment.

I have a similar one in my tree. Mary Martin Arter. Her mother was Mary Arter. No father recorded in the parish records. I finally got proof from the parish records where the info was slightly different from the Bishop's transcripts.

On second thoughts - I will add the baptism later incase you can find someone that is going to Winchester at some time. It is possible that Ester was illigitimate but her father's name was Payne. If he was helping to support the child you might turn up evidence in the poor law records.

The burial that Gillian found aged 20 in 1833 would make the baptism I found in 1813 about right.
