Hi Billy,

Finding Margaret Norton is proving difficult. I think she must have been married to a Norton, not born Norton. You will have to buy the certificate for her marriage to Thomas Goulding to get any further back with her. The certificate would give her marital status ie. spinster, or widow, it would also give her father's name.

I have theory that she was married to Joseph Norton who died in Jul-Sept qrt 1894 West Derby, unfortunately this is only a theory........no proof without her marriage cert to Thomas.

Smile Re: Gouldings of Liverpool

Hi Slizzy, thanks for getting back to me and I hope you had a good sleep. As regards Annie Thompson, that is probably the correct one that you have found. According to her two daughters she was born 1900; but do remember their mother saying that she was a year older than they thought!!! So she may have been born in 1899.

The strange thing is the ages on the marriage certificate,w hich states that she was 19 in 1917? Still I suppose the Vicar was hard of hearing!

Annie sisters were named: Ellen 1907 -1995, Emily 1910 - 1996 and a brother named Victor Fredrick 1916- 1973.

The Margaret I was refering to in my message was Margaret Norton who was married to my gtgrandfather Thomas Goulding.

In respect of Annie Sumner, I received an email from a Sumner living in S.E. Essex that there are a family of Sumners who have lived in Much Hoole, Lancashire. I believe since 1600's.
I will let you have the details of his email later.

Thanks again Slizzy,
Billy

Hi Billy,

Hope all's well your end and family ok

It will be Friday at the earliest before I'm able to continue with the search. I've got internet connection problems AGAIN! I am not always able to connect, and when I can connect I can only access web pages from one tab, therefore I cannot look up details on the census' etc and also place an answer on here. Tommorow is a family day..........so no chance to sort things out, Friday I intend calling my isp and hopefully they'll get me running to full service Hope to be back on your searches presto

Take care, speak soon.
