Sorry if this is wrong place to post

Just wondering if anybody knows if it was common to have a female's name and occupation were the father's name and occupation should be on a marriage Certificate

I have not come across it but not everyone knew who their father was.

I've never come across one either until i received my GGGrandfather's Marriage Certificate to his 1st wife
