I watched it last night and it was really interesting. He is a direct descendant of God..........lol He is a direct descendant of Catherine Howard no less Wife of Henry VIII she was beheaded. They were able to trace his family way back to before 1066 and all that. The series is repeated around midnight the same night but a few weeks behind. A new series starts in the New Year. I want to be on it......don't we all........but I aint famous so thats that. One of the best progs on telly.

Thanks Mollie,

I'll look out for the repeat, as it sounds like it was really interesting. I did so enjoy the Alistair Mcgowan one, so if this was as good, or better then it's a 'must see' As you said Mollie the likes of us won't ever be featured, a shame as who knows our ancestry pre say 1500 could well be aristocratic. Afterall some wealthy folks denied their children a share of the estate for one reason or another, especially if they thought shame had been brought to the family name, by say marrying beneath them, or setting up home with a deserted married woman. The only reason I'd be happy to discover aristocratic roots is it would be a gateway to tracing back to year dot However, realistically I doubt there's blue blood running through my veins lots of wine and spirits more like.

Hi Slizzy. I thought the Alistair McGowan one was a bit funny.......the poor man. He kept saying he wanted to find his Scottish roots and I was saying.....you aint finding any mate, you are going to Ireland not Scotland.lol His name is Mc not Mac. What made me laugh was when he said he was singing Flower of Scotland from the heart at Murrayfield....was in fits at that. He can be an Honorary Jock if he wants.........lol. I loved the Carol Voderman one as well she was so enthusiastic and it was also very sad. I'm gonna claim the Irish throne cos can't prove that I am or not. My son says he is an Irish King. Told him the other day that His Irish Majesty could do with a haircut. He'll be gutted if he goes bald.............pmsl

Yeah poor Alistair ....... he seemed traumatised at the discovery he was part Indian, then to add insult to injury he found he wasn't of Scottish descent either, but Irish. His face told all he was thinking .......... sh*t this can't be true, my heart beats for Scotland, my passion's from Scotland, my very dark eyes and complexion are from? eek from India

That's what I enjoyed so much about that one, the surprise element and the shock element for 'old' Alistair. However, when I saw the pic of his Dad I found it difficult to believe that Alistair had not considered he probably had Indian ancestry.

Mollie, I am sure the Irish crown will suit you well. I can picture you now.... a sword in one hand ennobling the poor of Ireland (are there any nowadays?) a Guiness in the other, and you singing 'When Irish Eyes Are Smiling' How democratic would that be! It would be FABULOUS don't you think?
