Thread: historical directories problem

I am having problems when i am trying to use the Historical Directories, the problem i get is that after putting in the county area i dont seem to go any where.The pc just hangs doing nothing
any help would be grateful as i am trying to trace occupations etc

I would be interested to see any answers you get to this question.

I don't know if we have a similar problem. I mislaid a disc so sent for a new one which wouldn't do a thing. My husband tried it in his laptop and it worked without any problem. I later found the old one in my second disc drive which I had forgotten about. It worked first time. They are both the same disc made by the same people. I still haven't worked out why one works and not the other in my computer.

I have found the problem. The link in the links and tips forum was out of date. I have now added the new link to the thread.

Thanks to this link, I found the listing for my maternal GGF James Miller. The directory listed him alphabetically as well as by street. It unfortunately does not list an occupation for him.
