Hi have you all missed me? LOL I bet you aint Ok I am kinda stuck on my descendants. Hope someone can help me in my quest.

I sent an email to the Oldham Chronicle, must be about 6 months ago now, anyway I was looking for any Allt Family in the Oldham area, however lastnight I received an email back from a Steve Allt in Oldham, he as got quite a few names of Allts and their spouses which he tracked down from Breedon, Rawmarsh and then to Oldham. I have got the same people that he mentioned to me in his email also in my tree including his great grandfather. Now here is the crunch I can't for the life of me think how I came across the Allts and I'm not sure how to trace it back from my tree. I've got so many names that it's doin me head in. Hope someone can help with this teething problem thanks.

Hi Pauline,

Am I right in thinking that you have added these names to your tree but can't find where they link with your main branch ? Also have you got a gedcom reader. After the first few thousand names I had the same problem but now have it sorted. I will send you a PM.

Hi starlight

Many thanks for your reply and your pm

I will try that website, I just hope it's not too techy for me to understand.

I wish now I had started making written notes sooner, than waiting until I had too many names in my tree.

Oh well, we live and learn

Hi Pauline,

If the site is still free, let me know and I will post it on the boards. It is easy to use as you just update the gedcom from your tree. I don't want to try looking myself incase I muck my own up

As for written notes, if you saw mine you would have a heart attack . I even have them with shopping lists on the back
