Janine, I'm not surprised at all about that. I think most things now you have to pay for to look up.

Yes I've just read this on another site...what a pain

All the GRO Indexes are no longer free

Fortunately there are a lot of members on here who do have access to them......so just post you're request in the Look Ups thead and someone will help search.

With the GRO indexes it would be helpful to post as much info as possible and even "guesstimate" dates a coupla years either way are really helpful.

Free BMD is still a helpful resource and current estimates are that the years 1837-1927 will be completed by December 2007
