My ancestors John (1807) & Ellen (1814) Cannon left Ireland sometime between 1843 - 49.

Their children at the time were John (1838), Patrick (1841) and Bridget (1843) and it seems John (senior)'s younger brother Thomas emigrated to England with them.

They settled in Willenhall / Darlaston area of West Midlands and had 3 more children: Mary (1849), James (1850) and Edward (1857).



On census forms, they said their place of origin was Co. Galway, however older family members have told me it was actually Co Mayo. I'd love to hear from anyone who could solve this mystery for me; I also have lots more information about this family which I'm happy to share.
