Thread: Hackworthy (found!)

Thanks for the advice everyone, I've now found my great-grandmother, Mary-Ann Hackworthy. She was born in Cadeleigh in Devon, so it's no wonder I couldn't find her in Tiverton!!

You're all brilliant on this site, do you know that! Have since found out that my great-granny, Mary-Ann, had a twin brother called William! And they also had a sister, Maria. I haven't been able to find out anything about their parents, but I do know that when the parents died, all three of them came to Tiverton to live in Chapel Street with a family called the Holsgroves, although I don't think they were any relation.
But, heres the best bit! Mary-Ann knew her future husbands(and therefore my great-grandfather) first family! How about that? She might even have played with the children and chatted to his first wife, I don't know. I'll have to look into that a bit further.
I'm over the moon about this. Couldn't tell though, could you?

Hackworthy updated! I know I've said this before but you are all wonderful!!!! Thanks to Slizzy and everyone else I now have the names of my great, great grandmother and my great, great, great grandparents. YES!!! Once again thanks!

This just keeps getting better and better. I've managed to find photos of my great- granny Hackworthy! She was gorgeous! And I've found photos of her Mum and Dad, my great,great grandparents. Can't see any resemblence though!

I'm so pleased for you Flood - great news. I adore old photographs as they hold so much history and I love all the retro fashions. I'm sure you will be treasuring them.
