Thread: Grandad and Dr Who!

I found out yesterday that my Grandad Charlie used to play with Dr Who and Wurzel Gummidge actor Jon Pertwee! They all used to live very close together in Oakford in Devon, and went to school together. That's brilliant, that! I didn't even know that the Pertwee's came from Devon!

You might recall a while back when I posted on the Facts about your Ancestors board that my grandad Charlie used to play with and grew up with Jon Pertwee? Well, Loz, you suggested that I write to Jon Pertwee and ask if he remembers grandad? Well I can't because Jon died in 1996, which I was a bit disappointed about, but , you know.
I suppose I could always find out if Bill Pertwee is still about and write to him instead. I think he's still alive.
I still can't believe he grew up with them. Amazing or what!!
