hi slizzy, yes she was working as a domestic at 18 preston road southend in 1901, and i know she was born in sulgrave oxon in about 1881/2 but then she disappears again
hislizzy, i may hve stumbled on another owen in southend in the early 1900. harry owen was also b. sulgrave 1882 and lived with his twin sister in horace road, he played football for southend utd and was killed in 1916 in france. the photo of him is the likeness of my g.father,, i wonder if harry is kates twin, found this by accident, he was in 23rd btn the royal fusiliers (the sportsmans btn). his friend in the battalion cpl turner was married to his twin sister and was there when he was blwn up by a trench mortar
Hi Wiredog, I have posted a link in regards to Harry on your other thread..It mentions about his twin sister and that they lived together at Ivor Villa 2, Horace Road, Southend. It does not give her name..Do you have a copy of Harry's birth cert? I have ancestors who were twins born in suffolk and it gives the time of birth on the certificate..This only happens with twins and so on.

Hi wiredog,
It seems it wasn't his twin sister he was living with but an older sister, Amy Ann, who was married to Henry Brum.

hi slizzy, wonder why so many members of the owen family would leave the ancestral homeland to live in southend. it was never a great centre of industry .
dear slizzy, yes it looks like kate to me arthur charles turner was also in the trenches with harry owen, i think he was killed in 1916 aswell, his family were an army family and most emigrated to canada, i wonder if kate followed them
Can't help with Kate post 1911, but if you require help in tracing further back post your request.
