    Default Grey - Donaghadee/Belfast

    Hi

I am looking for information about my father's family. He was Roberrt Rice Grey born 16.04.1921.

I know nothing more about his brothers. His mothers name was Eva and I believe her maiden name was Gaillee (not sure of the spelling). I know nothing of his father.

There was mention of a Great Aunt Hessie whom I recall lived in Donaghadee, with reference to The White House in the address.

He often made reference to the Boys Brigade in Belfast and may have lived there at one time.

    Any information would be useful.

    Thank you

Hi Deni it should be easy to get a copy of Robert Rice Grey's birth certificate as you know his birth date and from that you should be able to find out about his father.http://www.groni.gov.uk/

Thank you, but despite searching many sites I have been unable to find a record of his birth, even though I can find details of his mother and father.

Hi Deni I checked out Griffiths Valuation for Co Down 1863-64 again and there were 3 Grays (spelt with an "a") living in Donaghadee:

Mary Gray 33 New Street, Donaghadee

Mary Gray 12 Union Street, Donaghadee

Robert Gray, 28 Bow Street, Donaghadee

Could they be your Grays or Greys.

William Raine Grey married Eva Gailie Rice at St Annes Church of Ireland, in the parish of Shankill, Belfast on 30th June 1920.

His fathers name was James Cooke (both christian names) and Eva's father was Robert.
