James Munn b. 08-18-1834 Belfast d. 01-03-1903 Pittsburgh, PA.

James married three times - first wife unknown, one child

Robert Munn b. 12-15-1851 American waters,

mother died in childbirth aboard ship

Second wife: Martha Hammersley b. 06-26-1840 USA PA.,

d. 08-17-1873 PA. died from infection, (childbirth) known

children: Aggie Munn b. 1854, d. 11-12-1868

Elizabeth B. Munn b. 1860, d. 01-08-1828

Henrettia H. Munn b. 1862, d. unk

Jane Munn b. 12-1866, d. 09-22-1916

James H. Munn b. 07-29-1869, d. 12-30-1933 USA NY

Third wife: Mary Wiseman b. 04-10-1834 Ireland, d. 09-28-1922

I have Jane Munn born about 1809 - she was a widow and had at least 2 children, Margaret and Robert.

Do you know if your Matthew Munn had any siblings?

I have one sibling for Mathew Munn b. 1810, a brother named James. Mathew and Elizabeth (b. 1812) Munn had three children that I am aware of...Robert Munn b. 1833, James Munn b. 1834, and Matthew b. 1843. The three sons left Ireland for the USA in late 1851.

It is possible that your Jane is a sibling of my Mathew. One of Mathew's sons named his daughter Jane. Do you have more information on your Jane? Where are you located? I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. James stayed in PA., but Robert and Mathew went to Minnesota. There is also a branch of the family in New York. Can I answer any more questions? Is there anything else you are willing to share about Jane? I have documents and sources if you would like. I am really excited about this. I hope to hear from you soon.

Hello

Jane is listed as being born in 1809 in County Down. She was a widow by 1851. Her daughter Ellen Munn was born in 1850, so I presumeher husband died around that time.

This means that Jane would have been a sister in law to your Matthew, if indeed they are linked.

Jane left Ireland in about 1851, as the daughter Ellen was born in Ireland, and in the 1851 census she is in LIverpool. I am wondering if your Matthew travelled to Liverpool from Ireland and then onto America.

One of Jane's sons was called Robert, born 1849 County Down



So, I really need to find a marriage for Jane in County Down - I've never researched in Ireland before so am a bit clueless about where to start - it does sound promising theough - what do you thjink?
