Thread: Munn Family of County Down

I am a descendent from this family. Mathew's son Mathew who lived in Minnesota is my great grandfather. His daughter in law Mary (Collins) Munn (married to his son Charles) said she remembers seeing her father in law on his knees in prayer. He was Presbyterian she said. Her mother in law Nellie's given name was Bridget. I am a granddaughter of Charles and Mary Ellen (Collins) Munn. Mary lived to 108 years old. I grew up in the home that Mathew built (and his brother too, so I've heard). It had a incredible basement--circular brick construction and very deep--at least two stories. My father (Robert) said a number of times that his uncle James walked away and never was heard from again.

My family is part of the Minnesota Munn's. We are decendants of Matthew Munn who died in 1916. Then his son Charles Munn who died around 1973. My father was his oldest son Robert. Two of Charles' children still survive--Gerald (Minnesota) and Kathryn Bechtell (Oregon).
