Lol.. And what a surname to go with it..Its just as bad as Smith,Jones or Brown and so common for the county..I suppose one thing in my advantage is some of the Davies children had the middle name of Vivian..Maybe not as I still can't locate James Vivian Davies or John Vivian Davies..I thought John might have kept his profession in life as he was a Bakers Assist in the Workhouse..I can't locate any of them in later census..

    No Lady M,
Wait on! That death in Redruth reg district might be for the other John V Davies as there were two born remember. I will see if there is a death in Sunderland first or maybe see where they were on 1911.
Just thought he might have come back to the Illogan area later in life.
Will look to see if he has army record. So don't get your hopes up yet.

He might be the son of David and Susan J davis who also lived in Illogan/Portreath

Have found a military rec. for John davies born 1857 Portreath, town of birth REARITH(Redruth)
Age 20 yrs at attestation date 29th Dec 1877
    Attestation Corps B BDE, RHA
National Archives WO97/2630/105(Br. Army Service Records 1760-1915.
16 pages oF records for John but not got right viewer for it. How to download the viewer?

Got him Mariona! John VIVIAN Davies!! He is the Sunderland one.
    Here's his death cert.
He died 28 May 1839 of myocardial degeneration and chronic bronchitis.
He was 83 and job was watchman. (He had been a groom during his army life and was a groom when he signed on 29 Dec.1877)
His daughter C. M Taylor(the Camelia of earlier censuses) was present at death.
    All the dates fit.Dublin 1878, St. John's Wood , Aldershot 1886
Cawsand 1888, Devonport. Falmouth 1894. Tynemouth 1896 and Sunderland 1896
Shall now see if the marriages and births of children are there.
    I may be some time....

Lola, Thank you so very very much..I knew that name Vivian would pay off in the end..Lol

From your findings above I was able to further my search in regards to John and Mary's daughter.. I thought at first the name must have been Camelia or Camilla but it was neither..The name was Cornelia..I then found on free bmd...Births 1889
Cornelia Mary St Germans 5c 33

The district St. Germans is an alternative name for St Germans and it is in the county of Cornwall

    Marriage March Quarter of 1918

    Davies
    Cornelia M Taylor Sunderland 10a 967

    Taylor William U Davies 10a 967

Then a possible birth for Cornelia and William....

    Births March 1921

    Taylor James D Davies

    10 a 1047 Sunderland..

Its all starting to take shape now Lola so I am one very happy Lady Marion..Now I have to sniff out James Vivian and Mary Vivian..

    xx

    Jolly Good! Lady M,
Glad you found marriage details for Cornelia (not Camellia). And births of her children. Wonder if there are still Taylor families up there or if some came home to Cornwall?
They did not seem to use their middle names of Vivian at all .... only at birth and death... so you have to look at all possible Davis/Davies with the right Christian name. They are all there somewhere!
    Keep looking!
