A little more information is required please..What year was Richard born and did he die in Australia? You say you have a death notice? Australian death certificates are very informative unlike the UK ones..
Can you tell us if Richard had any siblings and do you know their year of birth? Do you have a place name in Cornwall where Richard was born? Questions I know but they are only to help you..

Hi There Dee8, I searched from December 1852/December 1854 and found one Richard that might fit the bill born in Penzance..This could very well be him as there was no other Richards between 1852/1854. You can order the birth cert on line with the GRO (General Records Office) The Certificate will confirm his Mothers maiden name..

I have found one possible marriage but you really need to get the birth certificate first..
I searched for marriages from the March Quarter of 1840 to December Quarter of 1852 and found one marriage for a Joseph Grose to Ann Rogers June Quarter of 1845 St Austell..
