Gareth Hunt, star of The Avengers has died...aged 65, after battling cancer.

The news report is below.....

Actor Gareth Hunt, star of The New Avengers, has died of cancer aged 65. He had battled pancreatic cancer for the past two years. Hunt played Mike Gambit in Seventies show The New Avengers, alongside Joanna Lumley.The crime-fighters were joined by the only member of the original Avengers to reprise his role, Patrick Macnee as John Steed.
He was also familiar to millions for his series of Nescafe adverts.
His trademark move was to shake his clenched hand then open it and smell the coffee beans he was holding.
A statement from his agent said: "He fought the disease with great courage and through his strength of character and his wonderful sense of humour he continued to work right up until the end of 2006."
Hunt is survived by his wife Amanda and three sons.

That's sad news. I never saw The Avengers, but I've heard of the programme.
