Pavlova

The Base
3 Egg Whites
1 Cup Castor Sugar
1 tsp brown vinegar

The Dressing

Fresh Whipped Cream

Strawberries

passion fruit....

Or you can have Strawberries Cream and Chocolate in the way of a Flake crumbled and sprinkled on top.

To make.....

Add 3 Egg Whites and Vinegar to a good sized mixing bowl. Beat with Electirc or Hand Beater until stiff and peakes form. High Speed.

Reduce Speed and add half the Castor Sugar. Mix until sugar is well blended. Add remaining sugar and blend well.

On Greese Proof or Waxed Paper turn out the mixture all of it and kind of make it round in shape. Bake in oven at 170 Degrees about 45 minutes. Dont open the oven mixture will not rise. When cooked mixture will be looking hign in the oven but dont remove for a few minutes. When cooled top side down on a nice cake plate remove Waxed Or Greese Proof Paper. Cool right down until cold. Dress with Fresh Cream and fruit. With the Passion Fruit cut in half and flick pulp with a knife all over the mixture. The Strawberries are to be cut in quarters. If you want to go for the choclate recipe omit Passion Fruit but add Flake instead. Flicked. This is Yummy and Easy to make.

The above makes for about four people. Double the quantities to make more. The Cream must be thickened and spreadable.

Oh lor...........worlds worst in the kitchen (on a par with Chris I think.....lol)

Here's one anyway:

Sausage Surprise

Onions (1 large or two small)
Sausages (about 1lb -depending on how many you want)
Tin tomatos
Oxo cubes
Instant mash (or you can do it the long way round)

Fry onions till soft, add sausages and cook till nice and golden........chuck in tin of tomatos and mix around a bit...............crumble two oxo cubes (beef) -add to pan, stir around. Pop lid on and leave to simmer for a bit while you make the Instant Mash (if you do proper mashed potatos best to do boil the potatos at the same time as you cook the main dish)

Pop mashed potatos on a plate and cover with sausage mixture.

(one of the few things I can cook and not detroy -or give folk food poisoning.............lol)

(AKA Mary)

How beautiful it is to do nothing and rest afterwards...

Cor blimey, will everyone stop talking about food!!! It's making my mouth water, lol.
Mary, I think I'm on a par with you and Chris as the worlds worst in the kitchen, if I'm cooking for myself it's fine, but for anyone else, well.........! Let's not go there.

Here Pal...found this one tucked away in my recipe folder at the bottom of the cupboard... knew I had one somewhere.....pmsl

Betty's Cheesy Scones

Ingredients:
6oz (180g ) self raising flour
1oz (30g ) butter
1 large egg
2 or 2½ tbsp milk
4oz (125g ) grated cheese (use whatever strength you prefer)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp mustard powder
Cayenne pepper to taste
Method:
Mix the flour, salt and pepper together. Rub in the butter and then mix in the cheese. Beat the egg and add in the milk; add mixture to the dry ingredients to make a soft, elastic dough. Roll out the mixture on a floured surface but not too thinly. Cut into round shapes and place on a well greased tray. Brush the top with milk and sprinkle a little extra cheese and pepper on top.
Bake in a pre-heated oven on a high shelf at 220C/425F/Gas Mark 7 until golden brown. Serve warm with butter.

they are nice....lol... been a while since I tried them...
