This is the letter l got from windsor this morning.........
THE ROYAL ARCHIVES
7TH MARCH 2006

Dear MY NAME
Thank you for your letter regarding your great grandmother Bessie[Elizabeth Lyon,
Who may have been a lady in waiting to a member of the Royal household.

I have made a search of our indexes to the Royal household employees, in addition to our general subject index, and l am afraid l have found no name to the Bessie, or Elizabeth, Lyon in our Records. Although your great grandmother was employed by a member of the Royal household, this does not necessarily mean she was also part of the Royal household and it is more likely that she was part of her employer's private staff.
Therefore, l am afraid l am unable to provide any information about Bessie Lyon.
I am sorry for this disappointing reply

yours sincerely
name..........................which l cant put on

Assistant Archivst

That is word for word on the letter

Oh what a disappointment Floss. Never mind you may find her one day and then be able to write back to them so they can add her name to their index.
