Default Chat room help

It has come to my attention that some members are having trouble using the chat room.

If you find that there is nowhere for you to type a message, first check that you are using internet explorer. If you are not you will need to download it first.

Still having problems ?

If you have a large tool bar screen at the top of internet explorer you will need to remove this.

Go to where it says TOOLS
In the drop down box click on FULL SCREEN

Now go to the bottom where it has a magnifying glass with 100% next to it.
Change this to 75%

Now give it a try
Good luck

Hi Tippo,

I know you were quite happy just listening to the conversations but I am glad that you now can get to the box to type in. If you hadn't, we would have missed out hearing what amazing things a 75 year old is able to achieve. Well done.
I might try that double clicking and see if I can get in first time.

Thanks Raven I guess I will become more used to this as I go along. Are most people on this site from England? Are you supposed to use new 'threads' or different rooms like the coffee room when speaking of other things?

Hi Tosh,

there are quite a few members from your part of the world as well. So you are not alone.

on the boards there are forums for asking for lookups and help. You can also put the surnames you are researching on the Surnames and counties boards.. The Chat room itself is for instant chat...usually quite a few peeps in there on our nighttime.. Couple of Aussies come in as well.. I am sure you will soon get to grips with things..
