We also lost two family members in the World Wars - my nan's uncle, who got a VC after being killed at Ypres, Belgium in WWI and her brother who was killed in Normandy in WWII.
I went and put a cross with a poppy on it on both their memorials - so sad, they were only 22 and 23. R.I.P Thomas and "Uncle Jack" |
