Every September 22, people from around the world get together in the streets, intersections, and neighbourhood blocks to remind the world that we don't have to accept our car-dominated society.

It's not happening round our way either, most people just don't seem to care, do they? And most of them don't know that today is carfree day, I didn't till I read the link.
It's one of the reasons I never learnt how to drive, I'd be just another car causing pollution on the roads. Grump, grump, grumble, grumble. Lol..!

Oh flood.............turning into a grumpy old woman........ooops sorry.........ignore the 'old'.....................lol
I didn't know anything about it till I saw it on the website. I expect unless anyone is into 'green' issues they won't know either. I don't drive...........glad I don''t. Couldn't cope with the stress of it all.

I don't drive either and I think everyday should be car free day cos i hate them but sadly we DO need them. Still, if we had a car free day think of all the folks you would meet who would go out and take their dogs for a walk or dust of their old pushbikes and go for a ride. Things like walking to the park with the kids. Cars aren't necessary for stuff like that. Maybe a law should be passed to make a compulsary car free day at least once a month...........lol So come on you lot, get on your bikes and get some exercise

Just hiding down here cos don't have a bike............lol

Don't drive Moll, dont have a bike either (doubt that I'd stay upright on it if I did............lol) and as for this exercise lark.............umm.........not so keen on that either..............nice steady walk........rambles I think we used to call them............that would suit me.
But you're right...........people would stop and talk more.
We had a street fair last weekend up our road and down the next one with folk having tables outside selling their 'unwanteds'.............(daren't let them see my 'wanteds' let along other junk........lol). It was the second one thisyear and it actually made me walk up little side streets and talk to people I'd never met before and I've been here for 20 years !
