Default Horncastle folklore

Is this true or false ?

There is an old folklore which relates the Horncastle floods to the change of the town's vicar. The vicar changed in 1919 & 1959, coinciding with floods in 1920 & 1960 (less than a year between the occurrences). Also, the vicar changed in 1980, the year of another flood. The current vicar, Mike Burson-Thomas, is due to hold his last sermon in Horncastle next month, so we will have another change.

Mary, I don't know. I hope it's just a coincidence and that you don't get floods.

I hope so .............mind you, the waters have gone down now round here apparently .........we're still on Flood Warning but the weather tomorrow doesn't look as bad as it did when I checked bbc. website earlier so here's hoping.
Everytime I look at the blessed weather map it seems to change..............lol

Ya know what? The weather seems to change depending on what channel you watch. Has anyone else noticed that?
Fingers crossed for everyone affected by these floods.

Bloomin' map on the bbc.weather site..........I did just what they do on the telly.........move it on a few hours and so on.........today we weren't supposed to have any rain.......well maybe the odd 'shower'..........but we've got a downpour thats here to stay.
Wednesday looks horrendous on the blessed map - like you don't want to be anywhere at all............but that could change, as it seems to be doing all the time. Modern technology ? Should have put my fir cones outside...........lol
